August Favourites

It’s almost the end of August already!? Oh I missed last month’s favourites! Though I doubt you noticed, my apologies dolls :)

I really wasn't happy with my daytime moisturiser (Nivea naturals something-something) ever since I read about the bacterial levels in jar moisturisers and that once they are opened, the product is virtually useless as it starts to break down. Anyho, it was a heavy glass jar so wasn't really very handy for travelling and I decided I needed some SPF protection. Nivea's products never break out my sensitive skin so I had a quick look in Boots. I picked up the normal/ combination skin and it's just what I needed; it absorbs quickly, isn't greasy, it has the generic 'Nivea smell' and SPF 15.

The Sudocrem tube really isn't what I was expecting. I’ve worked my way through many a tub as it's an absolute holy grail product of mine whether it be spots, cuts, burns etc etc - a complete miracle product. I guess it's because it's in a tube, but I was expecting a thinner consistency cream to the original tub, but it's exactly the same... in a handy tube - perfect!

I picked up the Palmer's at the airport as I managed to forget to pack any body butter/ lotion! It's really handy for popping in my bag, it's very moisturising and smells delicious - I'll most definitely be purchasing a bigger bottle.

The Dove is a re purchase, I used to use it when it was first released in red packaging... I don't really know why I stopped using it but the new packaging caught my eye. As far as I’m aware it's the same product - does it's job and smells lovely too.

If you’ve read a few posts back, you’ll know this is my first MAC lipstick and I’ve got some big love for this little bullet. It’s the exact shade I was looking for, it wears reasonably well and I like the sugary smell/ taste :)

I hope you’ve all had a lovely month! What have your favourites been? xx

My Sunday in a nutshell

Hey dolls! My family have gone away for the weekend so I'm currently home alone! Without sounding antisocial, I actually really enjoy having the house to myself and find it really relaxing :) I worked Friday and yesterday then stayed at a friend’s house last night. it's been a pretty relaxed day today I’ve just lounged round the house, and done a bit of housework (shocking, I know!) I’m currently watching friends (the one with Ross' tan) and waiting for my friend to finish work then we're ordering in a cheeky late-night domino's (Mmmm..)
Sorry this isn’t my most interesting post but anyho, I hope you're all well and had a lovely weekend - comment and let me know what you're up to tonight – oh, and hello new followers :) xx

Holiday in photos & blah

I'm hoooome! I've been back for about a week actually but I've been rushed off my feet catching up with the goings on while I've been away, shopping, washing, working and such! I didn't really know what to put in this first post back or whether you'd be interested in my holiday snaps... Anyway I've decided to put up a few of my favourites so enjoy :)

Thursday 4 August 2011

There's a first time for everything...

My goodness, three posts in one day, you must be sick of the sight of my name on your dashboard! As I said previously, I went shopping with my mum as the weather's been terrible today. You've seen my outfit, now heres what I bought...

Not exactly my biggest haul, I know. When I'm on holiday I get through books at quite a pace so I was on the hunt for a few more Sophie Kinsella's as I've already read quite a few in the shopaholic series (in the wrong order, I might add, this is the first one) and I've been meaning to pick up 'remember me' for ages. WHSmith's have loads of offers on at the moment and I got these 'buy one, get one half price'.

The lipstick is my first from MAC! I have no idea why it's taken me long to buy one, I think it's because I find the shade range (and price) quite daunting, I never have the time to carefully choose a shade which will suit me.

I've had my eye on this shade for quite a while as I was looking for something quite similar to my lip colour, a 'my lips but better'. Anyway dolls here's a swatch and the shade is 'Créme in your coffee'. It's the perfect shade for my pale skintone. The swatch is quite true to colour and MAC online describes it as a 'Creamy mid-tone pink brown' which I think is spot on. It's a creamsheen so it's not too drying but still has good staying power (tried and tested today) and tastes looovely :)

Roundup & ramblings

Hello my lovelies! Are you all well? I woke up this morning with a sudden urge to tell you all what's going on with me at the moment, and so, here I am :) I've been über busy this week as per but as school is out it's now with lovely summery activities instead of revision! Anyho I thought I’d do a bit of a roundup of my week so far;
On Monday a few friends and I drove down to Chester zoo. I haven't been since I was about 9 and it was seriously exciting (clearly, you’re never too old for the zoo!) we had a really amazing day and I got some really great shots which I’m hoping to incorporate into my upcoming A level project. (I might do a separate post on this later on)Tuesday was a day of spontaneity! My Mum and I decided to go and visit my grandparents (this is spontaneous as they live about a 4 hour drive away) We had a lovely trip down in this heat-wave weather we've been having, went out for dinner and lounged in the garden.
We drove home yesterday afternoon in 28˚ heat, I had to go to work for a staff meeting virtually straight away and as soon as I arrived home, it poured it down with rain (damn British weather)It’s still seriously warm although the sun has disappeared and it keeps raining... So, my mother and I have decided it’s the perfect opportunity to go shopping, guilt-free that we’re not wasting of the sunny weather!
Right, now for a few random ramblings. First off, I have a new camera! Whist I was at my grandparents, I was given a camera my granddad no longer uses and it’s actually quite a step up from the one I was using (it’s a Fujifilm something or other) I’ve also being changing a few things round in my room and when that’s finished I’ll be putting snaps up. I'm currently attempting my July favourites but I'll admit I'm struggling slightly to think of things... You also may have noticed I have a new profile picture! This is due to an upcoming lipstick post (and new found vanity now the braces are gone ;) ) Oh and I almost forgot! I'm flying up to Scotland on Saturday morning as my auntie lives up there, I believe I’ll be gone about 10 days, though I might attempt a few scheduled posts if I’m feeling adventurous :)

Phew, bit of an essay! Kudos to you if you made it to the end!
